Joanna is an attorney, the manager of the Disputes Practice , manager of the Spanish Desk as well as a team member in the “People Practice” (HR) at DGTL. Apart from disputes she also handles individual and collective labor law, particularly cases that pertain to hiring processes and “difficult dismissals” of high-level employees.

Joanna holds particularly expansive experience when it comes to representing clients in court proceedings concerning nlaims arising from the termination of employment contracts, mobbing and discrimination, claims for accidents at work and occupational diseases, as well as in disputes with the Social Insurance Institution and the National Labor Inspectorate.

Moreover, Joanna has experience when it comes to representing clients in inspection proceedings by the National Labor Inspectorate and the Social Insurance Institution. Including preparing strategies aimed at minimizing risks of losing the proceeding.

Apart for Joanna’s love for labor law, she I also active in the general civil law sector and conducting disputes between consumers and entrepreneurs as well as economic disputes. She supports clients through account receivable and enforcement proceedings.

Some of Joanna’s recent projects include:

– Continuous legal counsel regarding labor law, social insurance as well as hiring of foreign employees for an American restaurant chain;

– Continuous legal counsel and support regarding labor law in the construction industry, development and the medical industry;

– Representing clients in court proceedings against the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) when it comes to determining the contribution payer, determining the amount of contributions as well as not being covered by insurance;

– Representing a company from the development industry in disputes with former employees regarding the establishment of employment relationship and the payment of additional benefits in the field of labor law;

– Representing a company from the development industry in disputes with former board members arising from the infringement of the competition-clause which ended with a positive outcome, on the basis of which, the claim for payment of 450,000 PLN and 600,000 PLN was dismissed;

– Representing a company in the tech industry in a dispute against an employee (chairman of the trade union organization) with a positive outcome which resulted in the dismissal of a claim to reinstate and pay compensation to a former employee;

– Representing entities in the creative and advertisement industry regarding compensation due to the failure of fulfilling expectations established in the contract;

– Supporting a client in the medical industry through enforcement procedures;

– Preparing a legal opinion and risk assessment regarding the calculation of contractual penalties and the occurrence of grounds justifying a possible withdrawal and payment of claims resulting from the IT contract for an entity from the banking sector

In her free time, Joanna like to travel, discover new places and cook. She is also interested in psychology.
