Monika Latos-Miłkowska

Monika combines her legal practice with academic work – she is a legal advisor and a researcher specializing in labor law. Her particular interests, both practical and academic, include issues related to collective labor law, organizational transformations on the employer’s side and their impact on labor relations, job security, parental rights, and protection of employee claims in case of employer insolvency.

As a legal advisor, Monika specializes in labor law cases, both collective and individual. She has experience in handling labor law cases in court. She has also acted as an advisor in employer mergers, collective bargaining, and collective disputes. Serving as a legal advisor at the Guaranteed Employee Benefits Fund from 2018 to 2023, she gained experience in debt collection cases.

The unique combination of practical experience and theoretical knowledge gives her an open and creative perspective, helping her find unconventional legal solutions to problems.

Monika is the author of 100 scientific publications in the field of labor law. In particular, she authored the monograph “Protection of Employer’s Interest,” which served as the basis for her obtaining a habilitation degree in 2014. She is also a co-author of a highly regarded commentary on the labor code

edited by Professor Ludwik Florka, and the author of a commentary on the Act on the protection of employee claims in case of employer insolvency. She is also a co-author of several volumes of the Labor Law System edited by Professor Krzysztof W. Baran. She regularly publishes in “Praca i Zabezpieczenie Społeczne,” “Studia z Zakresu Prawa Pracy i Ubezpieczeń Społecznych,” and other prestigious legal journals.

Monika is the head of the Labor Law Department at the Leon Koźmiński University College of Law. Previously, for many years, she was employed as an assistant professor at the Department of Labor Law and Social Policy at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw.
