Karolina Barszczewska

Karolina is a graduate of the Marie-Curie Sklodowska in Lublin as well as a certified attorney-at-law applicant entered on the list of the District Bar Council in Warsaw. She gained her first professional experience while interning in legal sectors of corporations and larger companies as an in-house counsel. At DGTL she focuses on developing the labor law practice – both individual and collective – as well as commercial contracts and copyrights law.
She support the firm in:
- Complex employment processes and dismissal of workers of all levels, including the managerial staff;
- The process of implementing internal company regulations and negotiating with stakeholders in such processes;
- Creating and maintaining a coherent HR Compliance system in organizations (as a member of employer-created committees which investigate reports of mobbing, discrimination and other undesirable behavior in the workplace;
- Proceedings before labor courts, civil courts and supervisory authorities, including the National Labor Inspectorate
Karolina also supports DGTL clients through topics related to their commercial activities, including negotiations, the establishment and implementation of commercial contracts.
Some of Karolina’s selected projects include:
- Conducting an audit and managing the complex process of implementation of a coherent HR Compliance system in a company consisting of over 2,000 workers;
- Implementing home-office and remote-work policies in the publishing, IT and consulting industries;
- Support of employers through fulfilling the required preventive actions regarding unwanted behaviors in the organization, including implementing anti-mobbing policies, support throughout the implementation process as well as conducting committees explaining/investigating said behaviors;
- Support through the implementation of a system enabling the application of an increased rate of tax deductible costs in an IT company;
- Implementation of internal company-policy as well as negotiating them with worker representatives in companies with teams consisting of several hundreds of people;
- Conducting restructuring of employment processes, including carrying out group and individual dismissals; along with employees preparing plans and scenarios for these processes;
- Conducting an audit of the work-time systems used in organizations, working out optimal solutions, implementing them in the workplace and training management staff;
- Developing contracts regarding hiring of new employees, employment contracts, civil law contracts, non-compete and non-disclosure agreements in service/trade enterprises, including the IT Industry;
- Analyzing and negotiating trade agreements for a client that conducts market research
Karolina is the author of numerous publications when it comes to labor and copyright law.
